Is the Preparatory Class mandatory?
Yes, the Preparatory Class is mandatory. In addition to the current academic curriculum, it can be considered a “preparation year for high school life,” during which students are introduced to the behaviors, competencies, and skills expected in high school education.
Which courses are offered in the Preparatory Class?
The Preparatory Class curriculum includes Intensive English, Second Foreign Language, Turkish, Science, Mathematics, Visual Arts, Physical Education, Music, Information Technologies, and Guidance.
Is boarding available?
There is no boarding option at SEV American College.
Can we visit the campus before registration?

What is required for pre-registration?
When the 2026–2027 Admission Guide is published, clicking the active link on our website on the specified dates and entering the candidate student’s Turkish ID number, date of birth, and your mobile phone number will be sufficient to complete the pre-registration process.

For the 2025–2026 Academic Year, the minimum admission score was 451.7918 out of 500.
Are there separate quotas for female and male students?
No. Student admissions are carried out based on a single score and a single quota.
What is required if someone other than the parents wishes to complete the registration process?
If registration procedures are to be carried out by someone other than the parents, a power of attorney issued by the student’s legal guardians is required.
If the parents are divorced, registration must be completed by the parent with legal custody. In both cases, custody or power of attorney documentation must be presented at the time of signing the registration contract.
What should we do if we need to grant power of attorney to more than one person?
If you wish to grant power of attorney to more than one person, all names may be included in a single document. However, individuals acting on behalf of the family must present the original power of attorney. (Photocopies will not be accepted.)
What is the procedure for withdrawing registration after enrolling, if we wish to transfer to another school?
If a transfer is requested after registration, the following steps apply:

The student’s registration is canceled via the e-School system, and the new school completes the enrollment through the same system.
Is any deduction applied to the paid amount in case of withdrawal?
In accordance with Article 56 of the Ministry of National Education’s Regulation on Private Educational Institutions:

Students who withdraw before the academic year begins are refunded the annual fee excluding 10%.

Students who withdraw after the academic year begins are refunded the remaining amount excluding 10% of the annual fee and the portion calculated based on the days attended.

What are the Financial Aid Scholarship opportunities?
Financial Aid Scholarships are granted in accordance with the criteria and implementation principles defined in the SEV (Health and Education Foundation) Scholarship Regulation.
This scholarship is valid for one year. All applications are evaluated by the school’s scholarship committee. Eligible applicants may receive support ranging from 10% to 100%, based on assessed need.
Students wishing to benefit from the scholarship for more than one year must reapply annually and participate in the evaluation process. Advancement to the next grade and no disciplinary record are mandatory conditions for continuation.

Are there Sports, Arts, and Science Scholarships?
Yes. Scholarships are available for students who have earned the right to enroll in our high school and/or are currently enrolled, and who actively participate in sports, arts, or science activities in line with specified criteria. These scholarships are granted throughout the student’s high school education.

What makes SAC different?
Founded in 2014, SAC (SEV American College) is the fourth high school of the Health and Education Foundation. Its sister schools—Üsküdar American Academy, İzmir American Collegiate Institute, and Tarsus American College—are long-established institutions founded in the mid-19th century.
SAC is managed by an experienced and reliable leadership team, drawing on this deep-rooted expertise. Teaching staff are selected from both Turkish and international candidates based on academic and personal competencies.
Students receive education in English as their first foreign language and German, French, or Spanish as a second foreign language, in addition to Turkish as their native language. They successfully take international exams such as TOEFL, IELTS, and the European Language Portfolio.
SAC is known for its strong support of scientific activities, including TÜBİTAK competitions, CERN visits, scientific seminars, science fairs, and academic publication production. Technology is an integral part of education at SAC, with SmartBoards in all classrooms, teachers using laptops in lessons, and SAC X-Zone—where students engage in AI, entrepreneurship, robotics, and coding.
The university journey begins in Grade 9 and continues under the guidance of university counselors. Through fairs, school visits, and career days, students explore domestic and international universities and complete application and enrollment processes with professional support.

Is the IB Diploma Programme offered? In what scope?
SAC became an IB World School in May 2016. The programme offers a balanced combination of depth and breadth, allowing students to choose six subjects from six different disciplines—three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL).
Is the AP Programme offered?
Under the current program approved by the Ministry of National Education (MEB), our 11th and 12th grade students can benefit from the wide selection of AP courses offered by our school. These courses provide university-level academic content, appear on students' official transcripts, and give them an advantage in applications abroad.
What is CIS Accreditation?
CIS (Council of International Schools) is a globally recognized organization that certifies schools providing education at internationally accepted quality standards. It evaluates member schools against global quality criteria and grants an “accreditation” certificate (similar to “equivalency” in Turkish usage) to schools that meet these standards.
Obtaining CIS accreditation requires a long and intensive process. SAC began this journey in 2018 under CIS supervision and earned accreditation in 2023, confirming its world-class educational quality. CIS conducts periodic evaluations every five years to ensure ongoing compliance.

What is the teaching staff like?
Our teaching staff consists of 82 teachers, with an average of 15 years of professional experience. Ten of these teachers, including the Head Advisor, are international.
In line with our commitment to continuous improvement, numerous professional development seminars are held throughout the year, and staff members participate in national and international workshops.

Is SAC X-Zone open to all students?
Established to encourage entrepreneurship and innovation, SAC X-Zone is Türkiye’s first high school-level entrepreneurship and innovation center. It is open to the entire school community, where all students take courses such as AI, robotics, and entrepreneurship, enhancing creativity and fostering a culture of collaboration. Is the SAC Sports Complex open to all students?
Yes. SAC offers a comprehensive sports complex where students can engage in fitness, pilates, basketball, tennis, volleyball, football, and table tennis. Spanning 3,500 square meters, the complex is open on both weekdays and weekends.
What extracurricular activities are offered?
Extracurricular activities and clubs are an essential part of education at SEV American College. There are nearly 50 clubs in science, arts, culture, and social fields, allowing students to explore their interests. Students may also establish their own clubs.
Are all courses taught in English?
All courses except Turkish culture and applied courses are taught in English.
What second foreign language options are available and at what level?
German, Spanish, and French are offered. Students graduate with the ability to express themselves fluently and accurately in these languages and may take international proficiency exams if they wish.
What kind of career guidance is provided?
SAC provides career counseling throughout high school through various programs to help students identify suitable career options based on their interests, abilities, and academic strengths, with the support of domestic and international university counseling services.
Why ConnectED SAC?
ConnectED SAC reflects a student-centered approach in which the teacher’s role shifts from being central to becoming a “manager of the learning process,” and learning extends beyond the classroom. ConnectED SAC is a learning management system to be used jointly by all SEV schools.
What is BYOAD?
BYOAD (Bring Your Own Apple Device) is a 1:1 learning model in which students bring their personal Apple devices to school for learning purposes. By using digital tools and resources, students can collaborate, create, share, and actively participate in classroom activities.

Is there a standard community service requirement for every student?
One of SEV American College’s goals is to raise individuals who “take part in volunteer organizations with the aim of serving humanity throughout their lives.” Community service is a core part of both academic and extracurricular programs. All students are expected to take an active role in social service projects, create and lead their own initiatives, and complete them by graduation. Additionally, all social clubs providing service are expected to organize at least one community service project throughout the academic year.
Can students benefit from the SEV alumni network?
Through the SEVConnect platform, students join SEV’s 20,000-strong alumni network from the day they graduate. They can connect with alumni in their country of study, receive mentorship from experienced graduates (by sector, expertise, or company), apply for internship/job postings shared on the platform, and stay informed about alumni-only events.
